Why follow news with RSS?

  • You pick the sources. Mix outlets from different countries and points of view, instead of reading what gets shared the most.
  • You see everything. Every headline the outlets publish, in the order they publish it. Nothing is ranked or hidden.
  • A place just for news. Your headlines don't get buried between vacation photos and ads.
  • Only the sections you want. Most news sites split their feeds by topic, so you can follow World and Science and skip the rest.

How to use this list

  • Copy a feed URL and paste it into any RSS reader. Every URL on this page works in any reader, not just Feeder.
  • Or click the feed's name. That opens the Add feed screen in Feeder with the feed filled in, ready to follow.
  • Sort by topic. Put news, tech and sports in their own folders so each topic reads like its own front page.

Big outlets publish one feed per section. For every feed from one outlet, see our lists for the BBC, CNN, Fox News, MS NOW (MSNBC), The New York Times, Reuters, The Washington Post, Yahoo News and the Drudge Report. For other outlets, look for an RSS link on the outlet's website, or follow the outlet with a Google News search feed. Feeder's free plan follows up to 200 feeds, so you can follow every feed on this page for free.

How to find the RSS feed of any site

  1. Paste the site's address into your reader. Most readers, Feeder included, find the feed for you.
  2. Try the usual addresses. Many sites serve their feed at /feed, /rss or /rss.xml, for example https://example.com/feed.
  3. Look for the orange RSS icon or a link called RSS, often in the site's footer.
  4. Check the page source. In your browser, view the page source and search for rss+xml. The address next to it is the feed.

If a site has no feed, Feeder can create a custom RSS feed for it. You can also follow YouTube channels and subreddits with RSS.

Common questions

What is an RSS feed URL?

It is the web address of a site's feed: the file that lists its newest posts. It often ends in /feed, /rss or .xml. Paste it into an RSS reader to follow the site.

Are news RSS feeds free?

Yes, following a feed is free. Some outlets keep most articles behind a paywall: their feeds still show the headlines, and you need a subscription to read the full story.

Does Reuters have an RSS feed?

Not anymore. Reuters closed its public RSS feeds in 2020. The Google News search feed in the world news list follows Reuters stories from the past 24 hours, and Reuters RSS feeds has one for every section.

Does CNN have an RSS feed?

CNN's feeds at rss.cnn.com still load, but they have had no new stories since 2024. To follow CNN, use the Google News feed in the US news list, or paste cnn.com into Feeder's Add feed screen and choose Create a custom RSS feed for this website. CNN RSS feeds lists feeds for CNN's sections, podcasts and editions in other languages.

Does MSNBC have an RSS feed?

Yes. MSNBC is now called MS NOW, and its main feed is https://www.ms.now/feed. The old msnbc.com/feeds/latest address no longer works. MSNBC RSS feeds lists 33 MS NOW feeds by topic, show and podcast.

Can I get breaking news alerts with RSS?

Yes. Turn on push notifications for a feed in Feeder, and you get an alert for each new story. Push notifications are free on every plan, and alerts arrive after Feeder's next check of the feed: as often as every 30 minutes on Free, or every 5 minutes on Plus. How to set up notifications.

Try Feeder

Feeder is an RSS reader for the web, iOS and Android, with extensions for Chrome, Firefox and Edge. The free plan follows up to 200 feeds, updated as often as every 30 minutes, with no ads. Plus is $7.99 a month, billed yearly, for 2,500 feeds, updates as often as every 5 minutes and e-mail summaries.
