To add a feed, select Add feed and paste the website's address. Feeder finds the site's feed and shows a preview, and you select Follow. You can also paste a feed link or type a few keywords.
Where is the Add feed button?
- On the web: Add feed is the button with the plus sign in the left sidebar, below Library. When the sidebar is collapsed, you see only the plus sign. You can also go straight to feeder.co/library/feeds/new.
- In the browser extension: open Feeder from your toolbar and select the plus button at the top. It's filled in when the page you are on has a feed.
- On iPhone, iPad and Android: tap Discover and use the search field at the top.
How do I add a feed?
- Select Add feed.
- In the search box, paste a website's address (
example.com), a feed link (example.com/feed) or keywords, such as the site's name. Press Enter. - Look through Available feeds. Each result shows the feed's name, its address, how often it posts and its newest posts.
- Select Follow on the one you want. The button changes to Following.
For suggestions, select Let AI find feeds for you and describe what you want to read. To add many feeds at once, use Import from file on the Add feed page. See Import and export your feeds with OPML.
What if Feeder says "Can't find anything"?
Feeder found no feed at that address, or none for those words. The apps say No feeds found. Try these, in order:
- Check the address. Open it in your browser and copy it from the address bar.
- Paste the feed link itself. Many sites keep their feed at
/feedor/rss, as inexample.com/feed. A direct feed link often works when the site's home page doesn't load for Feeder. - Look for the RSS icon on the site, often in the footer. Right-click it, copy the link and paste that link into Feeder, not the text of the feed.
- Search by name instead of by address.
- Try again later. Some sites turn automated visitors away for a while, so a feed that opens in your browser can fail in Feeder for a few hours.
What if the site has no feed?
When you enter a website address, Create a custom RSS feed for this website shows up with the results. You pick the part of the page to watch, such as a list of headlines, and Feeder turns it into a feed. See How to follow a website that does not support RSS.
Feeder can also build a feed from a page with AI. These results carry an AI powered tag (AI feed in the apps). You can follow 3 AI feeds on Free, 30 on Plus ($7.99 a month, billed yearly) and 200 on Professional ($14.99 per user a month, billed yearly). If the site has its own feed too, follow that one: it's more reliable and doesn't count toward the limit. To hide AI feeds, open Settings, select AI and turn off AI feeds.
Common questions
Why do I see several results for one site?
Many sites publish more than one feed, for example all posts, comments or one per category. Feeder may also offer an AI feed of the page. Compare the newest posts on each result and follow the one you want.
Which feed formats does Feeder support?
RSS (including RSS 1.0, also called RDF), Atom and JSON Feed. You don't need to know which one a site uses.
Can I add a feed from localhost or my company network?
No. Feeder checks feeds from its own servers on the internet, so it can't reach an address that only works on your computer or inside your network.
